• He earned his medical degree and specialty in general surgery from Istanbul University's Faculty of Medicine. Following his major specialization, he obtained his Gastroenterology Surgery Specialization from the Gastroenterology Surgery Clinic of Kartal Koşuyolu Yüksek Training and Research Hospital by placing in the top three of the minor examination.

• During his sub-branch assistantship, he received a scholarship from the Turkish Surgery Association and worked at the Mayo Clinic's Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery and Obesity-Metabolic Surgery clinics in Rochester, USA. Following his return to Turkey, Bakrköy Dr. 

• He was a co-founder of the Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital's Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery unit. Peker trained residents in general surgery and gastroenterology surgery in this hospital, which is recognized as a training unit by the Turkish HPB Association.

• On the other hand, he completed his doctorate and thesis on aging at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine (apa), Department of Medical Biology, in order to gain knowledge about stem cells, cancer biology, and the cellular properties of obesity and aging. He then established the Gastroenterology Surgery Clinic in Başakşehir am and Sakura City Hospital.

• He is particularly interested in Pancreatic Diseases and Surgery, Gallbladder and Bile Duct Diseases Surgery, Liver Cancer Surgery, Stomach Cancer Surgery, and Obesity-Metabolic Surgery, particularly in his career. Peker has successfully completed numerous operations. So far, he has performed over 400 pancreatic and gastric cancer surgeries, over 200 liver surgeries, numerous gallbladder, and biliary tract diseases surgeries, obesity – metabolic surgery and endoscopic treatments, and kidney transplants. Additionally, he is interested in aging and stem cell therapies.
