• Dr. Anil Kumar.D is  a Senior  Consultant - Paediatric Cardiac Surgeon  and he  has also pioneered a new innovation in the repair of tetralogy of Fallot by sparing the native pulmonary valve of the baby and avoiding cutting the annulus of the pulmonary valve.

• He is working as a  Senior  Consultant  in Paediatric Cardiac Surgeon  at KIMS Hospital, Hyderabad

• His specialization includes redo- paediatric cardiac surgery and has wide experience in single ventricle repairs on beating heart, without the use of cardiopulmonary bypass.

• With this technique, the long term result of this operation would be excellent without a leak in the pulmonary valve. In patients requiring a cut in the annulus, he augments the native small valve with a biological scaffold material called the Cormatrix that has a possible potential to grow in future.

• He performs several paediatric cardiac surgical procedures for a wide range of diseases in neonates and infants including complex lesions like transposition of great arteries (TGA), TAPVC, ALCAPA, and others.

• He has a special interest in the primary and single-stage correction of intracardiac defects with associated arch obstruction in neonates and infants with selective cerebral perfusion using a technique that has been popularised by the Stanford University group without stopping the circulation to the brain
