In 1980, he received his MBBS from King Georges Medical College, Lucknow University.
In 1984, he received his MD in General Medicine from King Georges Medical College, Lucknow University.
In 1988, he received his DNB in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.
He is a member of the American Endocrine Society, the Endocrine Society of India, the Indian Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology, the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India, and the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India.
He has also served as the Academic Coordinator for DNB (Endocrinology) at Apollo Hospital for the past six years.
