• Prof (Dr) D Mukherjee is an alumnus of the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College, Pune where he did his MBBS & MD (Medicine). Subsequently he went on to do his DM (Nephrology) from PGIMER Chandigarh, which is the foremost training institution for nephrology in India.

• Prof Dr D Mukherjee headed the Dept. of Nephrology & Renal Transplant at a number of superspeciality hospitals including the Army Hospital Research and Referral at Delhi and Armed Forces Medical College Pune. H

• e is a dedicated clinician, erudite scholar and brilliant researcher. He is an acknowledged expert in many aspects of nephrology including cadaveric renal transplant, ABO incompatible renal transplant and Interventional Nephrology. He is credited with starting the ABO incompatible renal transplant program and Interventional Nephrology program in the Armed Forces.

• His passion in teaching is reflected by the fact that he is a teacher and examiner for MBBS, MD (Med), DNB (Med), DNB (Nephrology) and DM (Nephrology)
