• Dr. Girish Warrier, a pediatric cardiac surgeon with many firsts in his credit, heads the Pediatric Cardiology Department of Aster MIMS, Calicut.

• He is the first surgeon in India to successfully perform the complex open-heart procedure (Starne’s Operation) in a 1 kg neonate, he comes to Aster MIMS with years of expertise.

• He is also the first pediatric cardiac surgeon in Telangana to successfully perform a Norwood Operation.

• He is a Fellow of the Indian Association of Cardiothoracic Surgeons and also a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, USA. With more than 20 years of international experience,

• He is also specialized in Congenital and Pediatric Cardiac Surgery for more than 12 years by performing 3000 surgeries of varying complexities that includes Arterial switch operations, Norwood operations, Complex biventricular repair, Single ventricle palliation and Complex neonatal surgery.
