About Doctor DR. HAYTHAM SAEED SHABAYEK

• He began his profession immediately after graduating from Cairo University's Faculty of Medicine
  and the Cairo Police Academy.
• He began as an Officer Doctor and Resident of the Neuro-Psychiatry Department in the Police Authority Hospitals in Cairo, and later as a Registrar-Specialist of Psychiatry and Neurology in the same department, eventually becoming the Vice President of Psychiatry and Neurology Departments for police hospitals in Egypt. At the same time, he worked as a Psychiatrist at Sheik Zayed Specialized Hospital in Giza.
• In 2005, he relocated to the United Arab Emirates as the Head of the Neuro-psychiatry Department at a private hospital in Abu Dhabi.
• One year later, he joined the Sharjah Ministry of Health as a Specialist and Head of the Department of Psychiatry, where he established the first Mental Health and Psychiatry Center in the UAE and eastern area.
• After ten years of employment in the same region, he went to one of Abu Dhabi's finest hospitals under the VPS Group, where he led the Psychiatry Department for the next three years.
• He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, the American Art Therapy Association, the United Arab Emirates Psychiatric Association, the Egyptian Psychiatric Association, the Egyptian Association of Pediatric Neuro-Psychiatry, and the Egyptian Syndicate of Medicine – Cairo - Egypt.
• His major areas of interest are general adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, addiction management, neuropsychiatric disorders, rehabilitation programmes for children and the elderly, and marital and inter-relational couple therapy.
• He has many research papers to his name and has been published in peer-reviewed medical publications in a number of nations.
