He is nationally and internationally recognized for his expertise in complex minimally invasive procedures including laparoscopic adrenalectomy, thyroidectomy, parathyroidectomy, pancreatectomy, colorectal resections, Achalasia, and anti-reflux surgery.
Dr. Iyad Hassan has also invented various innovative minimally invasive surgical procedures and is the first to introduce complex transvaginal surgery for large adrenal and appendicular tumors to minimize abdominal scarring.
During thyroid and parathyroid procedures, he created novel methods to maximize the use of intraoperative neuromonitoring for vocal cord nerves as well as intraoperative localization of parathyroid glands using Indocyanine green.
