He having worked as a Registrar in Cardiology, Wockhardt Heart Hospital, Bangalore, for a period of one year, he completed doctorate (DM) degree from the most sought after institute, Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology, Bangalore in 2003.
The following year, he was appointed as a Consultant in the department of Cardiology, Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain Heart Center, Bangalore, and simultaneously held the post of Honorary Associate Professor of Cardiology at Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College, Kolar.
