• Dr. O N Bhakoo is a Senior Consultant - Paediatric (Ped)  and he has been the first Paediatrician at PGIMER and in Chandigarh.He has  achieved many milestones in his prolific career of medicine.

• He is working as a Senior Consultant in  Paediatric (Ped) at Max Super Speciality hospital, Mohali.

• His specialization is Paediatric (PED)

• He also introduced the first DM course in Neonatology  in India in 1989 as well as developed Neonatology at PGIMER, Chandigarh.

• He has published 150 research papers, monographs and chapters in textbooks

• He is the Fellow of Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP)

• He is the Fellow of National Academy of Medical sciences (NAMS)

• He is the Fellow of National Neonatology Forum (NNF)He has published 150 research papers, monographs and chapters in textbooks

• He has been the temporary Advisor to WHO for a workshop in Neonatology
