• A graduate of Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, Dr. Chawla did her post-graduation in Internal Medicine from Government Medical College, Patiala.

• Thereafter she joined the department of Emergency Medicine at Fortis Hospital, Mohali in 2001 where she worked for the next eight years.

• She is presently a Consultant in Internal Medicine and is heading the Department of Clinical Preventive Medicine.
