Head & Neck Tumour Embolization : A minimally invasive procedure to block blood flow to tumors in the head and neck region. Tiny particles (embolic agents) are injected through a catheter inserted into an artery feeding the tumor. This reduces blood supply to the tumor, potentially shrinking it and making it easier to treat with other methods like surgery or radiation therapy.
Petrosal Sinus Sampling : A specialized diagnostic procedure that collects blood samples from the petrosal sinuses, located at the base of the skull. This helps diagnose certain conditions like Cushing's syndrome by measuring hormone levels in these drainage veins. The procedure involves inserting a catheter through a leg vein and guiding it to the petrosal sinuses for blood collection.
Brain Dural Arteriovenous Fistula (DAVF) Embolization : A minimally invasive approach to treat abnormal connections between arteries and veins in the brain's lining (dura mater). These fistulas can cause headaches, seizures, or bleeding. Embolization involves blocking the abnormal connection with materials like coils or glue delivered through a catheter inserted into an artery.
Spinal and Cerebral Tumor Embolization : Similar to head and neck embolization, this technique blocks blood flow to tumors in the brain (cerebral) or spine (spinal) using embolic agents delivered through a catheter. This can shrink tumors, reduce bleeding risk during surgery, or help control symptoms.
Carotid Body Tumour Embolization : A minimally invasive treatment for tumors arising from the carotid body, located at the base of the skull near the carotid artery. Embolization blocks blood flow to the tumor using particles injected through a catheter, potentially shrinking it or facilitating surgical removal.
Foot Drop : A condition where weakness or paralysis prevents lifting the front part of the foot, causing a dragging sensation while walking. It can be caused by nerve damage in the lower back, leg, or foot from various conditions like stroke, sciatica, or certain diseases. Treatment focuses on addressing the underlying cause and may involve physical therapy, braces, or surgery.
Brain Aneurysm Coiling : A minimally invasive treatment for weak bulges in brain arteries (aneurysms). A thin, flexible coil is inserted through a catheter and placed within the aneurysm, promoting blood clot formation and reducing the risk of rupture.
Carotid Cavernous Fistula Treatment : Addresses abnormal connections between the carotid artery (major artery supplying the head) and the cavernous sinus (blood-filled space at the base of the skull). Symptoms can include eye problems, facial pain, or pulsations. Treatment options include embolization to block the abnormal connection, surgery, or radiation therapy.
Brain Arteriovenous Fistula (AVF) Embolization : Similar to DAVF embolization, this procedure targets abnormal connections between arteries and veins directly within the brain tissue. Embolization materials are delivered through a catheter to block the abnormal connection and prevent complications like bleeding or neurological deficits.
