Dr. Subhash Chander Varma

• Dr.Subhash Chander Varma was elevated as Dean and has also served as officiating Director PGIMER in 2017. Dr Varma has recently superannuated from PGIMER as Professor & HOD of Internal Medicine & Hematology.

• Dr Varma was instrumental in setting up state of art Haematology Centre at PGIMER. Dr Varma is trained in BMT and Leukemia Cell Biology at Royal Postgraduate Medical School, London. He took great interest in medical education and was programme coordinator of National Teachers Training Centre at PGIMER.

• Dr Subhash was elected president of Indian Society of Haematology and Blood Transfusion in 2013.

• Dr Varma is an eminent scholar and has published several papers in both national as well as international journals. Dr Varma has authored many books and articles in medical journals. He was responsible for starting DM Clinical Hematology and DM Hematopathology courses in PGIMER which brought more fame to the stature of Dr Subhash C Varma
