• He is a member of  Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), and the Indian Medical Association (IMA).

• He completed his MBBS from Grant Medical College and Sir JJ Hospital, Mumbai in 1975, and went on to do his MS - General Surgery from the same institution in 1979.
