Dr. Zaheer Amin Virani

• Dr. Zaheer Amin Virani is a nephrologist with 14 years of expertise in the management of different forms of renal disease in adults and children.

• He is experienced in all forms of dialysis treatment including acute and chronic peritoneal dialysis, continuous therapies like arterio-venous hemofiltration/haemodialysis (CAVH/CAVHD) and continuous veno-venous hemofiltration/haemodialysis (CVVH/CVVHD).

• Dr Virani has independently performed procedures like central venous catheterization, placement of percutaneous kidney biopsies and percutaneous peritoneal catheters. 

• He also has expertise in the management of renal transplant patients including their preoperative evaluation, intraoperative and immediate post-operative transplant care.

• Dr. Virani’s experience extends to the renal ICU and kidney transplant patients with many being ABO incompatible kidney transplants.

• He has received honorary positions including being chairman of the Executive committee and a Member of the Ethics committee of Prince Aly Khan Hospital.
