Visa arrival and Registration
In a typical scenario, it takes around 72 hours for the visa to arrive. Requests for urgent cases may be processed in a lesser time period. After you receive the medical visa, you can book your tickets to fly to India. It is a mandatory process for the medical visa applicant to register with FRRO or FRO within 14 days of their arrival in India.
Visa validity and Visa extension
The validity for eMedical visa is usually 60 days from the date of arrival. It can be applied twice in one year. A person is permitted for 3 entries with the visa. It is non-extendable.
The regular visa is valid either for the treatment duration or for one year, whichever is less. This visa can be extended for another year on the orders of the State Government or FRRO. This happens only after getting a certificate from the registered hospital in India. This type of visa also allows 3 entries in one year.
